summer in the garden

July 5, 2017

Are you enjoying your summer? Or is it winter where you are? Summer is my favorite season. I love the heat and, of course, I love the garden. It’s brimming with life right now. So pretty! Here is a peek at what the good earth is giving me. Cheers!

Great pictures. My favorite season is Spring. I love the spring wildflowers. I prefer cold to heat, as I tell people you can always put on more clothes to stay warm, but that are only so many that you can take off to stay cool. LOL

Haha! Good point. For some reason as the years have gone by, I’ve developed a craving for the heat. To a certain point, though, then I am very glad we have central A/C in the house.

Our peppers have struggled this year. Our tomatoes were stunted from to much rain, in the spring Now it is 90 Degrees in mid Sept. We live in central Ontario. I have new cucumber,Raspberry and a second life on the peppers. I looked at the long range and this week will be the same. We had a bumper crop of tomato last week . Spent all Saturday making salsa. I’m very happy to find like minded people on word press.

We were in the same boat all summer, such a cool, rainy summer. Things didn’t do quite so well. Now it’s hot for a bit but too late! I’m hoping the sweet potatoes are doing fine but time will tell, harvest in October. I’m happy to hear your garden got a second life 🙂 WordPress has been such a nice, supportive place in my experience. Some really great people here.

Every year I think I am a pro . Nature every year puts me in my place. Still all winter i will be planning and preparing for spring planting. This year we had record garlic and onion, because of that cool wet spring.
