Question for my fellow gardeners: do you listen to music while working in the garden?
This question made me think…do I listen to music while I garden? Sometimes, but not always. And when I do, what do I listen to? Oftentimes, it is gardening podcasts that I listen to. I plan to do a future post on my fave gardening podcasts. But for now, let’s talk about music to garden by.
A quick search came up with a bunch of links. The first one, from The Telegraph, listed the six best music albums for gardeners. I’m not familiar with any of these artists, with the exception of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and even then only by name.
Also high on the google hit list was a link to one of my favorite gardeners, Margaret Roach. Her gardening music selections are more familiar to me, including songs by artists Al Green and Johnny Cash.
There are also gardening playlists on music apps, such as Spotify.
While I love most types of music (from Weird Al to Metallica, both of whom I’ve seen or will see live this year – and many times prior), I think the songs I really enjoy while gardening are soft country songs. A couple examples are Whisky in My Water by Tyler Farr and Love You Like That by Canaan Smith. Can’t beat it for spending a couple hours outside in the hot summer garden!
What do you listen to when you are working in your garden?
