Ever since we visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Center in 2017, I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for these beings who face such tough odds. I began following the center’s Instagram account and the below post came across my feed today.
The post finishes with “Rediheal and tissue glue was also placed in the some of the lower jaw where pieces were missing. The surgery went well for the snapper!”
Wow! Hands on my heart and saluting the good folks who dedicate their careers and lives to this type of rescue. It can’t be easy to routinely see such trauma to these animals who’re just going about their innocent lives and get caught up in car and boating accidents.
In order to end this post on a more positive note, I’d like to encourage all of us to support this fine organization to whatever extent we are able. They are doing good work. You can visit their site, here.
This turtle has taken over my thoughts. What are you thinking about today?
