We are looking forward to the coming week, which means some time off of work. Other than just enjoying the holidays and seeing family, we are planning a couple of house projects. Hey, when gardening is not an option…perfect time to do something constructive inside the house.
I will be replacing the ceiling light fixture in the laundry room and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint. Here is a peek at the current fixture and walls. I’ve been dabbling with some paint samples to help me choose the perfect color. That’ll explain the blotches that you might be seeing on the walls. I ended up going with Benjamin Moore Smokey Taupe. It’s a bit darker in person than it shows in the pics. It’ll brighten up the room quite a bit.
Looking at the opposite wall:
As an aside, our dryer is going out and we will probably be replacing this set next year as well. They came with the house, so no telling their age. They have served us well for the past almost seven years! Fingers crossed the dryer holds out for a little longer.
The man will be replacing all the fixtures in one of the bathrooms. This is the bathroom that I mainly use, and I am ecstatic to get a new shower head. I am telling you I cannot wait. The water flow from the current one is, ahem, lacking. I think these fixtures are original to house (est 1997) and they have lived a long honorable life. It. Is. Time.
I started to circle everything getting replaced, then realized…not necessary. Basically, anything metal in this room is getting replaced.
We are switching to oil rubbed bronze fixtures in this room. And repainting at some point in January or February. I’m excited to see the new look. Hopefully I will have some nice “after” photos to show you very soon!
Are you doing anything fun over the holiday week? Have a great weekend!
