nothing is stable

October 10, 2019

Hi all! Today’s post is all about chapter 13 from the Tao te Ching. So, if you are just here for the gardening, no worries, feel free to scroll past. Of course, I would love it if you stick with me and read through. My “study page” for the Tao is here if you are interested.

In a nutshell, this chapter says to me: Nothing is stable. The highs and the lows happen and they are equally impactful to us. It comes with being a living human being. We must learn to deal with it. It helps if we are able to see the world as we see ourselves and thus, remove some of the “separateness”. If we can love the world as we love ourselves, all is good. We can then care for all beings.

It reminds me of some of the things we learned growing up. The golden rule: treat others as we want to be treated. Or: Try to look at things from the other’s point of view.

Do they still teach these things today?? What happens to us as we get older and more world-wise? It seems like we somehow lose those messages we learned. Or at least, we have to make the effort to remember them and then put them into practice.

On a brighter note, tomorrow is TGIF. Hope your week is going well!
