painting and shredding

October 21, 2019

Happy Monday all!

We had a fantastic weekend. I am continuing to celebrate my birthday, every weekend during October. Because, why not? Not only did I have a delicious birthday dinner Saturday night with my family, the man and I began staining our new building.

We went through two gallons of stain and had to stop. This afternoon I am picking up another gallon and I think that should do it. I tried to color match with the siding on the house, but couldn’t quite get an exact match. It’s fine, still looks good together. My whole thought was that I just want them to look a bit cohesive. The house itself is looking a bit tired these days and is slated for new roof and restaining within the next couple of years. We’ll probably just do the shed again at that time, using the same stain for both.

When the stain ran out, I began shredding leaves.

The soil we brought in over the summer was not exactly the highest quality, so for the next few years I will be working to amend it with shredded leaves and compost.

By the time Sunday afternoon came around, I was exhausted from all the outdoor work and called it quits for the weekend. Did you have a great weekend too?
