It seems much too early to be planning for the Thanksgiving gathering, but it’s really not that early. Just over two weeks away. We do our big feast here on the Saturday after and the man always cooks a turkey. I do several side dishes and our guests bring their wonderful dishes, too. It really is a feast.
I’m trying to come up with some new things to cook, yet I don’t want to stop making the things I always make and that everyone loves. I try to cap it at no more than four things to make. That keeps me plenty busy. So, the hard part is narrowing it down.
This year, I’m considering:
- Roasted sweet potatoes (an annual fave)
- Roasted brussels sprouts (I love this one and will make it even if only a few other people like it. It’s delish!)
- Apple crumble (this will be a first and I’m hoping it turns out as good as it sounds; from the Oh She Glows cookbook; I have the actual cookbook but couldn’t find a direct link online, here it is on another blog)
- Artichoke dip for an appetizer (another first, from Thug Kitchen Party Grub)
So, that’s how it’s looking right now, subject to change. Are you hosting this year?
